The trade agreement between the US and the EU represents an important step toward more stable transatlantic relations. This was stated by analysts from EXPORT ANALYTICA, an institute of the Council of Slovak Exporters, in response to the conclusion of the Euro-American customs agreement.

According to exporters, the agreed framework signals a renewal of economic confidence, but at the same time raises questions in key areas of energy and strategic investments.

“From a global perspective, this is a significant compromise. After months of tension, it is a clear result of political will to restore cooperation and trust between the world’s two largest economies,” said Peter Blaškovitš from EXPORT ANALYTICA.

According to preliminary information, the energy component of the agreement focuses on cooperation in the field of liquefied natural gas (LNG), hydrogen technologies, energy security, and price stabilization. EXPORT ANALYTICA emphasized that this part could be of fundamental importance for Slovakia as well.

“If the government and industrial players succeed in setting the right strategy, Slovakia can actively engage in Euro-American projects in the field of energy and clean technology research,” Blaškovitš added.
